Every surface still reflects that.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shape is simple with a square body, rounded corners, and a solid six-sided handle cut from the same piece of wood as the board itself. Look closely and you can still see the facets left by the drawknife or serpette (pruning knife) that shaped it. The handle is slightly irregular, the way hand work should be. Both sides are covered in generations of knife marks that have softened with time, washing, and handling. The surface has reached that point old wood sometimes reaches where it feels almost silky despite all the wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the kind of board that immediately feels at home in a kitchen. Hang it on a wall with other antique French cutting boards, use it for bread and cheese, or let it sit on the counter where the patina can speak for itself. You can tell this board was actually used.
