Deep grain separation, old drying cracks, softened edges, and a cutting surface marked by decades of knife work. Look closely and you can still see the drawknife shaping along the sides where the board was finished by hand rather than machine. A few small worm holes near one corner speak to its long life, while the substantial thickness and weight give it real presence. At nearly four kilos, this French cutting board did not shy away from the hard kitchen work it was made for.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the kind of board that works just as well today as it did 150 years ago.
