It was made from close-grained hardwood, likely beech, with a substantial rectangular cutting surface. This board has a small drilled hole, through the side of the handle, for hanging. It's unique that it is through the side.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cutting board is simple, practical and exactly the kind of board you expect to find in a country kitchen from the turn of the last century.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt over four centimeters thick and almost two kilos, it has enough weight to sit firmly on a counter while being used.
