The 1784 is not the date of manufacture, but taken from one of the Stefano Ugolini hotels in Florence. The mill itself is mid 20th century Italian work in the maker's signature style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tall square column body of this vintage Italian pepper grinder has a hinged brass dome top that opens for filling. An iron crank drives the original steel mechanism, and a small wooden door on the front, with its brass knob, slides out to release the freshly ground pepper.
