This antique French green glazed pitcher has that wonderful southern pottery feeling: useful, colorful and full of life. The green glaze has a life of its own, shifting from deep emerald to bright green. Filled with tulips, lavender or simple garden stems... it brings Provence straight to the table.
This pichet vernissé, or glazed pitcher, likely dates from the 19th century and is consistent with regional country pottery from southern France. Pieces like this were made for everyday use at the table... whether for water, wine or whatever the meal called for.
The baluster shape is beautifully balanced, with a single strap handle, incised rings at the shoulder and an unglazed terracotta foot. There are small chips and surface wear from age and use which shows its long kitchen life. Sourced at the professional déballage in Avignon, this is a bright, soulful piece of French country pottery.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
