Refund policy

Returns & Refunds Policy

At The Provence Collection, each piece is individually sourced and selected for its age, character, craftsmanship, and connection to French decorative life. We provide detailed photographs, measurements, condition notes, and descriptions so our clients can make confident, informed decisions before purchase.

Because we sell antique and vintage objects, signs of age, use, patina, restoration, surface wear, variation, and irregularity are part of the nature and history of these pieces. These characteristics are not considered defects when they are visible in the photographs or described in the listing.

Nonetheless, we understand that situations may arise where a return is required. Please review the policy below before placing your order.

Returns

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
  • To begin a return, please contact us in writing at clientcare@theprovencecollection.com.
  • Returned items must be sent back in the same condition in which they were received: unaltered, unused, undamaged, and with any original labels, tags, or documentation included.
  • Clients are responsible for return packing, return shipping, insurance, and any customs, duties, taxes, or import charges that may apply to the return shipment, unless otherwise required by law.
  • Items purchased as custom orders, special requests, or personalized items are final sale and are not eligible for return, unless required by applicable law.
  • Gift cards are non-returnable and non-refundable.

All returned items must be packed with the same level of care used for the original shipment. Any damage, loss, or reduction in value during return transit may affect the refund and is the responsibility of the client, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We do not offer exchanges.

Damages in Transit

Every piece is packed with care for international transport. In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please contact us promptly so we can assist with the carrier claim and determine the appropriate resolution.

  • If the outer packaging is visibly damaged at delivery, please notify the carrier immediately and request written confirmation of the damage before signing, whenever possible.
  • If damage is discovered after unpacking, please notify us in writing within 5 days of receipt at clientcare@theprovencecollection.com.
  • Please include clear photographs of the outer packaging, inner packaging, shipping label, and the damaged item.
  • Please retain all original packaging materials until the claim has been reviewed.

When damage is reported within the above timeframe and sufficient documentation is provided, we will work with you toward the most appropriate resolution. Depending on the nature and extent of the damage, this may include repair by a qualified specialist, a partial refund, store credit, or another appropriate solution.

This damages procedure does not limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned, including:

  • Gift cards
  • Personalized or custom orders
  • Specially sourced items purchased at the client’s request
  • Items clearly marked as final sale, where permitted by applicable law

Right of Withdrawal Under French Consumer Law

For consumer purchases made at a distance, and where applicable under French consumer law, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of taking possession of the goods, without needing to provide a reason.

To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing within the 14-day period. Your notice should include your name, order number, product details, and proof of purchase. Notification may be sent by email to clientcare@theprovencecollection.com.

Once you have informed us of your decision to withdraw, you must return the item without undue delay and no later than 14 days after communicating your decision to withdraw.

Products must be returned in their original condition: unaltered, unused, undamaged, and with any original labels, tags, or documentation included. You may be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and condition of the goods.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the client is responsible for return shipping costs, return insurance, and any customs, duties, taxes, or import charges associated with the return shipment.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of our receipt of the returned item, or within 14 days of receiving proof that the item has been returned, whichever occurs first. Refunds will be made using the same payment method as the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.

Antique and Vintage Condition

The Provence Collection sells antique and vintage objects. These pieces are not new, and their age is part of their value and appeal. Wear, patina, marks, small irregularities, old repairs, glaze variation, oxidation, dents, crazing, rubbing, and other signs of age may be present.

We make every effort to describe and photograph each piece accurately. Please review all photographs, dimensions, and condition notes carefully before purchase. If you have questions about a piece before ordering, we are happy to help.
