This French hardwood chopping board is very large and has that wonderful look collectors love. The rounded handle, broad working face and warm honey patina give it a beautiful country-kitchen presence.
Known in French as a planche à découper ancienne, this antique cutting board likely dates from the mid to late 19th century. It was hand shaped from a single plank of hardwood, likely beech or sycamore, with a short rounded handle pierced for hanging. Both sides were used, and each face has aged differently from years of chopping, slicing and daily kitchen work.
The wood shows crosshatched knife marks, softened edges, a stable small edge split and the mellow color that only comes from long use. Laid on a counter for bread, cheese, charcuterie or hung with other antique French cutting boards, it adds warmth, texture and the feeling of a real French kitchen that was built slowly, piece by piece.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
