This French oak chopping board has the kind of weight only oak can muster. The size is very large and it feels like it has lived a long life in the kitchen. It has the presence of a true country kitchen cutting board collectors love.
Known in French as a planche à découper ancienne, this antique cutting board likely dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. It was cut from a solid plank of oak with a drilled hanging hole at the handle and softened corners from years of handling. Both faces show heavy knife marks, with one side carrying a deeper worn hollow from long use.
The wood has aged to a warm honey tone, with darker scoring, small edge losses and the kind of patina that only comes from decades of real kitchen work. Use it for bread, cheese, charcuterie or display it with other antique French cutting boards where its scale, grain and worn surface can add depth to the room.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
