The Paris stamp gives this antique French copper pitcher its footing in history. Marked ALLEZ FRÈRES 1 R. ST MARTIN, it connects the piece to one of the great old Parisian quincailleries, where serious household pieces like this passed through before beginning their working lives.
This broc à eau, or water pitcher, likely dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. The hand-hammered copper body has a hinged domed lid, pinched pouring lip and decorative repoussé and fluted work around the shoulder that gives it much more character than a plain utility pitcher.
The old tinning has worn back in places, revealing warm copper underneath, while the surface carries age, patina and real use. Today, it would be wonderful displayed with dried lavender or simply standing on its own where the Allez Frères mark and worked surface can be appreciated.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
