The size is what makes this antique French cutting board stand out from the rest. Most old boards are fairly large. This one is quite petite, but with that classic Provencal cutting board shape.
It has been cut from a single thick plank of oak that rises into a handle and two notched shoulders. It has a shape that is instantly recognizable as old-world French. The hanging twine is still threaded through the drilled hole at the top, a small detail that somehow makes the whole piece feel more connected to its past. Likely late 19th to early 20th century.
For a relatively small board, it has real weight and presence. Nearly four centimeters thick with all the little imperfections that tell you it was shaped by hand rather than machine. Both sides are dense with knife marks that cross and overlap in every direction, built up over decades of daily use.
This is the kind of board that gets better the longer you look at it and is the finishing touch to a collection of larger French cutting boards. It can be hung on the wall, used for bread and cheese, or stacked with your collection. Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
