This French fruitwood cutting board has the kind of dark, worked surface that immediately feels good once it is unboxed. The small paddle form, faceted handle and pierced hanging hole make it feel wonderful, like a board that lived close to the cook and was reached for without thinking.
Known in French as a planche à découper ancienne, this antique cutting board likely dates from the 19th century. It was cut from a single plank of close-grained fruitwood.
The working face carries heavy knife scoring layered in every direction, while the back shows darker staining and quiet grain movement. Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
