This French stoneware bird waterer is one of those garden pieces that feels both humble and beautifully clever. The perfectly sized drinking cup and delightful hanging ring and were all designed around one simple purpose: keeping water available for birds in the garden.
Known in French as an abreuvoir à oiseaux, this antique bird waterer was hand-thrown in grès, or stoneware, and follows a traditional Mediterranean form. The sealed body held the water, while the small lower cup was fed by gravity as the level changed. The pale cream to greige surface has aged from long outdoor use, giving it the kind of texture and softness that belongs naturally among terracotta pots and garden walls.
It has a worn impressed oval stamp on the hanging ring that is no longer readable. Hung from a branch, set on a potting bench or displayed in a garden room... it brings a thoughtful little piece of French rural life into the home. Useful things were once made with shape, balance and care, and this piece still shows that beautifully.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
