This set of antique Provençal tian bowls is simply delightful. The set consists of three graduated sizes in saffron-yellow glaze with bare terracotta... and centuries of wear all working together in a way that is just spectacular.
Likely dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, these tians were hand thrown in terracotta and finished with yellow glaze across the interiors and rims. Each bowl has a bec verseur, or pouring spout, with small side handles and glaze drips running naturally down the exterior.
The age is visible in every piece: worn glaze, exposed clay, old surface marks and repairs from a time when good pottery was saved rather than thrown away. The largest bowl carries old metal agrafes, or staple repairs, closing a crack and adding a beautiful layer of history.
Because of their age and condition, I would enjoy these decoratively rather than for food use today. Nested together on a counter, set across a long shelf, or placed with linen, old wood and copper nearby, they bring color, age and real southern French character into the room.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
