French Zinc Garden Arrosoir | Antique Oval Watering Can
This French zinc arrosoir has a more tailored shape than the usual gardener-style watering can. The oval body, closed top, short angled spout and arched iron handle give it a compact silhouette that feels made for a greenhouse bench or a careful hand in the potager.
Known as an arrosoir à bec droit, or straight-spout watering can, this piece likely dates from around 1880 to 1900. The body was formed from rolled zinc sheet with a soldered top plate, small filling port and hand-rolled spout. The iron handle is fixed with decorative cloverleaf reinforcement plates, a small detail that gives the whole piece more character.
The zinc has aged to a soft blue-gray, with oxidation, mineral marks and warm wear around the handle and spout. It is still watertight, making it useful for water, branches, eucalyptus or fresh stems. Set near a garden door, on a stone terrace or beside terracotta pots, it has the quiet confidence of something made well and kept for good reason.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
