This French wire wine carrier has the kind of graphic strength that makes a simple object feel almost sculptural. The open iron grid, tall twisted handle and dark aged patina give it the presence of a cellar piece that worked hard and now looks incredible just being itself.
Known in French as a porte-bouteilles, this antique wine bottle carrier was made to hold twelve bottles in a three-by-four grid. Likely dating from the early 20th century, it is built from hand-shaped iron wire, with each bottle cell formed and wrapped into the larger frame. The arched handle is made from twisted iron rods, giving the piece both strength and a beautiful handmade rhythm.
The surface has aged to a deep, timeworn patina, with oxidation and wear from years of cellar use. Set it on a sideboard with bottles, use it in a bar area, or let it hold small objects, rolled linens or dried herbs. Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
