What is truly interesting about this antique French copper bowl is everything that has been worn off... Let me explain. The exterior of this old copper bowl was once a hammered surface, but then "planished" with smooth faced hammers by a coppersmith. Since then, it has been put to work for two centuries. Most of those hammer marks have softened back into the metal or have been gently worn. This piece just screams authentic patina.
It was created in the early 19th century, hand formed from a single sheet of copper. This took talent to create. The handles are cast brass, with each held to the body by four iron rivets. Iron, not copper. That iron rivet construction is a signature of early French chaudronnier work, before the trade industrialized and copper rivets became standard.
This small antique French copper serving bowl can be used today to hold fruit on the counter or be displayed with other fantastic antique copper creations. The warm copper glow from this bowl is just delightful to see in person. It is simply a patina that is impossible to recreate.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
