French Faience Wall Plate | Hand Painted Moustiers Style | Bird and Flowers
This vintage French wall plate has a nice little surprise built into it. The center is bright and playful, with a hand-painted long-tailed bird, flowers and small scattered details... while the pewter rim gives the whole piece weight and adds a really grounded element.
The faience center is painted in the Moustiers style, with blue, green, ochre and soft brown brushwork set inside a gray pewter, or étain, border. The reverse is signed fait main, meaning made by hand, and the slight asymmetry in the painting gives the piece its charm.
Hung on a kitchen wall, tucked into a small plate grouping or set on a stand, it adds color without taking over the room. The bird gives it movement, the pewter gives it structure, and together they make a very beautiful piece.

Are returns or exchanges accepted?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery in line with EU consumer law. Buyer covers return shipping and items must be returned in original condition. Refunds include the item price and original standard shipping.
