Storage and Containers
Before mass-produced packaging, every ingredient had its container. Antique French jars, crocks, canisters, boxes and baskets once stored flour, salt, spices, coffee, tea, preserves and daily provisions in kitchens, pantries and grocers’ shops across southern France.
This collection may include preserve jars, apothecary jars, tin canisters, stoneware crocks, tea caddies, bread boxes, wooden containers and woven baskets. Some still carry an original label, maker’s mark, brand name or period advertisement... just a small witnesses to everyday life from another time.
Made in glass, stoneware, tin, wood, wicker and other practical materials, antique French storage pieces bring both usefulness and vintage charm. Placed on a kitchen shelf, pantry counter, open cupboard or anywhere a little history belongs... they offer the quiet beauty of objects made to be used and kept.
